About CP-IS and sensitive patients
CPIS
You can view CP-IS Child Protection - Information Sharing. A service provided by the NHS. Helps social care workers share information about children and young people in their care, or on child protection plans. Allows healthcare workers to view relevant information about those children or young people. patients and sensitive patients in Nervecentre.

Nervecentre checks CP-IS when you attend a patient to UEC Urgent and Emergency Care. In Nervecentre, this covers 'ED areas' and SDEC. who has a verified NHS number A unique 10 digit number given to patients in England and Wales. A patient is given an NHS number when they are born, or on their first visit to a healthcare provider., and is:

A child of any sex, with an age up to 18 years 365 days
Or
-
An adult of any sex, except male, with an age between 19 years to 56 years 365 days.

If Nervecentre finds the patient has a record on CP-IS:

A message appears to tell you patient is on CP-IS

Nervecentre updates the clinical note for CP-IS to display a summary of information

Nervecentre sends a task to appropriate clinicians

If a patient is marked sensitive on PDS Personal Demographic Service, an NHS system. The PDS helps healthcare professionals to identify patients and match them to their health records. It also allows them to contact and communicate with patients.:

When you view the patient's record a warning appears

SENSITIVE appears in the patient banner

You can't edit specific fields from Edit Details
This includes the patient's address, their GP, their dentist, their pharmacy, their optician, and their school.

You can't update the patient's record on PDS

Nervecentre hides specific information from the patient's record
Depending on your NHS Care Identity roles, you can sign in with your NHS Care Identity credentials to view a patient's full record.
